I'd ask this on the Handbrake forum but I'm still waiting for my activation email. Are there any experienced Handbrake users on this list?
I am trying to rip some DVD-Rs. The title of each says DVD_VR. I bought the DVDs, but I believe that they were burned (opposed to pressed). They are of an old television show that ran in the 50-60s that is now in the public domain.
I'm not sure how the following translates to digital video, but I do recognize if from back in the days of VHS tapes. Each of the titles on the discs has a speed listed: EP or SLP. Some are one, some are the other. It seems random. What I am finding is that I can rip all titles on a disc with all of one, but if they are mixed, I can only rip one of a kind. What's really strange is that it seems random as to which I can get (some times it's the EP ones, other times its the SLP ones). And, when I say can get, I don't mean that the rip fails; I can only access one or the other. When I play the DVD with DVD Player, I can see and play all the titles. When I open the DVD as a source in Handbrake however, it scans the DVD, and then populates the title menu with the titles that it finds. When I scan a disc with a mix of both EP and SLP, it will only find one of the two kinds.
Anyone have any idea what's going on and why Handbrake can't find both? Any ideas on how I can rip the ones that Handbrake isn't seeing?
Thanks,
Wade
