While I am a CakePHP fan and use it as my framework of choice, I am
not the Jonathan referred to above. That would be John Anderson who
is often on IRC but not on the mailing list.
I enjoy CakePHP a lot. It is powerful and lite. However, I have not
used others as much as I have used Cake so making a comparison would
be worthless from me. I agree with Travis that it really comes down
to what you have become comfortable with. I would guess that most
people who have a favorite framework have not really tried many others
if any and so getting a true comparison out of most people should be
taken as the bias it is.
My suggestion, pick one, try it out. Don't like it? Try another.
Just like music and movies, not all genres are going to appeal to all
people.
Jonathan
