I have RHCT & RHCE certifications. Since a person is required to actually do
actual work on an actual system using actual RHEL, I feel Red Hat's certs are
very respectable. It isn't a simulation nor a multiple-choice or questionare
exam. If you can do (enough of) the work, you pass; otherwise, you don't.
Simple as that.
Also, RHCT/RHCE/RHCA, etc. are considered to be amongst the most well
respected computer/IT certifications, period. Not just in Linux, but even
when compared to Sun, Cisco, and so forth.
So, I would have to say, the RHCE is a good idea.
