Hi Everyone,

Well, someone already stole my thunder! Dang. Delphi for PHP is not
trivial, folks. It's at:
http://www.codegear.com/Products/Delphi/DelphiforPHP/tabid/237/Default.aspx

Good news, Borland/CodeGear are having a demo seminar here in SLC to
demonstrate the product, on April 11 at the U. I'm definitely going.
Here's the link to the details:

I have used Delphi for a REALLY long time, as in Delphi 1.0. It is by
far my favorite IDE. I have a friend who has been a registered Borland
beta tester for over a decade, who gave me the link. (I'm trying to
scarf a copy somehow, because I'm not crazy about ponying up $299) We
talked about it a bit.

All I can say is, look out PHP frameworks, there's a new sheriff in
town. This will be serious competition. Obviously I need to play with
it a bit before I pass judgement. But from what I've read, and from
what I know from experiencing the IDE, it's got me really excited.
Borland is a very serious toolmaker, guys. They do not play.

Has anyone else here done RAD? It's drag and drop heaven, without any
compromises or handcuffs. You can get as deep in the code as you want,
without having the tool trash what you've written by hand (one of my
occasional Dreamweaver pet peeves). Free Delphi components are
legendary, and supposedly they will all be open source to the PHP
community.

This could have a seriously positive impact on the PHP world. I need
to know how it works with CSS. I need to see more in action. I've not
embraced PHP frameworks so far. But a PHP RAD tool? That I have to
see. April 11th.
