Hello all,
I have been number of organizations approaching me with jobs/projects
lately has been increasing rapidly. Since I'm no longer really in the
web-development game, I've tried to pass those projects to people I
know, if possible -- and as a last resort, I post here. And yes, I
know there's a jobs announcement list, but I'm just a curmudgeon about
these things. :)
I think employers and UPHPUers would benefit from a UPHPU resumes
sections -- perhaps a link to your resume, associated with your
membership account, that could be activated and deactivated as your
employment needs changed. The page might also include what kind of
work a developer wanted (projects, full-time, both, etc.). Presumably
UPHPU would only store links, and you'd be responsible for actually
having a web-based resume. But I digress.
The advantage of such a resource is that employers could go to a page
on UPHPU.org and see a list, with linked resumes, of people, actively
seeking projects or employment. the employers could make direct
contact with developers and . . . you'd see fewer posts from me on the
list, because I could simply direct interest to uphpu.org/resumes (or
whatever). I know hearing and seeing less of me is something
_everybody_ could appreciate! :)
Regards,
Dave
