I'm not crazy about using javascript for layout, but it's okay. I once  
did a collapsable menu where I had to. It was a specific request by  
the customer, and I did what they wanted, letting them know the  
potential that it could be turned off by some. For just layout, I  
think it adds complexity that I don't absolutely need. I use  
javascript for lots of stuff, but layout isn't one of them.
