i think they're hideous...

i have nothing against standards compliance (most of my sites validate
XHTML strict, etc) but you don't usually have to tell people about it.

if you must tell people about it, at least make the links match the
rest of your site. IMHO, text links in the footer navigation to the
actual xhtml/css/rss/508 validation is the best bet. (check out the
validation links on http://justinhileman.info/blog ...)
