I think I understand what Scott is asking for. He wants someone to
sell him on the benefits of an IDE and how one would work in his life
and then which one would help him the most for what he does.
I have yet to find one that is amazing out of the box without needing
to be customized. Perhaps I have not taken the time to truly learn
all the capabilities and features of the IDE's I have used or do
use. Coda "looks" cool, but there are still some quirks, and of
course, it does not do everything I want it to do. I think it would
be hard to find a program that is everything to every one. Unless
everyone is the same and does exactly the same job.
I can appreciate cool new apps, but whether or not I can fit it into
my repertoire is a different story.
