We migrated to Asterisk from a proprietary 3com VOIP system a few months
ago.
For phone lines we started with a Digium Wildcard TE405P [1]. This
allowed us to use our two existing voice T1s. Right now we are
migrating to a SIP provider.
For phones we use Cisco 7960 IP Phones [2]. We got a pretty good deal
on about 10 of them on eBay. Since they were used and we didn't have a
Cisco maintenance contract getting the SIP firmware wasn't very easy.
We also have a few Linksys [3] phones that work pretty well.
We tried a few ATAs that worked pretty good with normal voice calls, but
failed miserably with dialup connections. Hence we still need a real
analog phone line for things like dialup testing, alarm system, paging, etc.
