This is more a stab at LAMP than anything. Though.. I'm not sure it  
really makes much sense.

"Bill Hilf, a Microsoft technical strategist, said the Zend deal, a  
multiyear, multiphase partnership, will ensure PHP programs run on  
past and future versions of Microsoft Web server software."

Well, that's comforting, at least. It's not like the community has  
been making sure of that for the past 10 years... Or that the LAMP  
alternative is free compared to "Windows Web server software".

"Technical improvements by Zend and Microsoft to make it easier to  
run PHP on Windows computers will be available to PHP's active base  
of contributors for further enhancement, starting in the first  
quarter of 2007."

Is it that hard? I'll admin I haven't  run PHP on Windows much, but I  
don't think it is that hard... And we all know what MS deadlines are  
like *cough* vista *cough*.

This article seems to make something out of nothing if you ask me.
