So I've heard.  It's probably worth looking into that before we decide
to switch over.  However, MySQL still doesn't have the neato
non-locking.... thing... that Postgres has.

Oracle has P/SQL, Pl/SQL is a naming pun for Postgres's language ;-)

Well, we can't enforce stuff at the DB level, as far as I know.  If
MySQL's got triggers and whatnot (in version 5 right?) then I'll look
into them and see if they provide what we need.  Since there's a lot
of applications going to be accessing this DB, enforcing it at the DB
level rather than in code is going to be important.
