[UPHPU] prepare and execute

Is anyone else using PEAR DB's prepare and execute [1] functions?  I've 
never been able to figure these out very well.  I would like to use 
them, and they work well, but what do you do when you want to debug?  Is 
there a way to print out a query after it is prepared but before it is 
executed?

I've combed through the docs but I can't seem to see how to do it, or if 
it's even possible.
