[UPHPU] Quickform validation woes

I am using quickforms as a standard for a website.  On a particular
page a select box is populated based on the request parameters.  That
select box and a text box under it are required.  If someone does not
pass values for the required items, the request generated box shows a
blank list or a single item, not what is originally displayed. It
seems to be dropping the request. What can I do to get the box to
display the original list when there is an error?
