I would say the range, for a mid-level programmer (that means 3-6 yrs exp)
along the Wasatch Front right now is between $50 and $70K. Java is top of
the pile, with C#/C++ close behind, PHP following that. Architects are
usually paid equally with the most-senior developers, and the closer to the
front-end (UI) of an application you get, usually the lower the pay-rate for
some reason. This is not scientific... just my gut.
Yes, Grant, your salary expectations for a Snr. Java Developer are in-line
with what I would expect. Also, many companies are throwing in fairly deep
benefits on-top of cushy salaries right now in order to encourage their
workers to stay longer.
