Hi John, I actually have the best of both worlds right now. My main
webserver is a colo box here in the SLC at xmission colo.
We have excellent throughput and I can access the computers when I want.
(by the way, there is an EXCELLENT Indian restaurant right next to xmission
colo that makes it fun to go check up on the servers then have a lunch
buffet.
On the other hand, I do have a dedicated server at RackSpace that is
handling all of my company's multimedia endeavors.
Now, that computer had a problem about 2 months back, and all I had to do
was call up, explain the prob, instruct them to wipe the box and have it
ready in 12 hours for me to transfer the data over from the old drive and
they did it.
That said, it really depends on your mission needs, how "hands on" you are
and if you like Indian food.
