OK, I've put a couple files up to show the problems I'm having.

http://ut4htech.org/~bradym/cssproblem.html has links to show what
happens when the div is on or off.

When the div is enabled, the menu on the left is in the correct
position, when disabled it doesn't move down, it stays in the same
place.

Also, the body content is not in the right spot and I'm not quite sure
how to fix that.

BTW - the hideous pink color is just to make it easy to tell where the
content div is located.

Any suggestions?
