Is there a way with PHP to have a form auto-fill as you type?

For example I have a MySQL address book that has over 100 names in it.

I want a form i which I can start typing the name of a person in the  
database and it will auto-fill the form. I also want the capability  
to be able to choose from a list if I can't spell that day.

Is this possible with just PHP, or will I have to use something like  
Javascript?
