The URAPUG / DC801 / iron* crew does this irregularly, although I try
to organize it so we get together at least once a month. We've done
it at my house a couple times, although I've been thinking of getting
a library meeting room. The members in each of these groups are
basically the same people, a group of friends / hacker geeks , who
share the same general technical interests and with a range of skill
levels in numerous areas.
If you want to put our heads together and make it a bit more public
and organized, I'm definitely up for it. Meetings like these benefit
from being composed of various groups that are unfamiliar with one
another. Professionally, especially. Networking in an environment
that encourages you to show off your talents is ideal.
