Although a few days late, I'll add that although I use 1 and 1 for my
production server, I also put my own computer online with a dynamic IP
using no-ip.com. They have a client you can download that you can
configure to update your public IP at regular intervals. In other
words, with no-ip.org (and possibly with others), you don't need to
write a script - they have client downloads for Linux, Mac, and Windows.
