I second that. If you are on the clock, and you don't need something
special that only Gentoo provides, don't use Gentoo. If all you want is a
nice Apache/MySQL/PHP web server, then Gentoo doesn't really offer
anything that other Linux distributions don't offer for a smaller initial
time investment. Last time I setup Debian (admittedly with a little
experience), I had a running Apache/PHP/MySQL web server in about 45
minutes.

Just a set of 2 unsolicited cents for you. Take it for what it's worth. :)
