As an employer it would not make much of a difference if you had a local
User Group Certify that you are a Master.  To have a Degree, work
experience, and a Portfolio you can show on interviews will be more
effective.

This is a terrific idea. Why don't we collectively design a set of tests
and requirements for UPHPU certifications? I think that would be
fantastic, and a great opportunity for group members to really show that
they've got "the stuff".
