Mid - Senior Software Developer (LAMP)

$60,000 - $80,000

Description:

Tute Genomics is cloud-based software that can rapidly analyze entire
human genomes. The cost of whole genome sequencing is dropping rapidly and
we are in the middle of a genomic revolution, with the potential to
transform medicine. Tute is opening a new door for personalized medicine by
helping healthcare providers analyze human genomes for health & disease.

We are looking for a self-motivated, PHP expert to help us add to our web
applications feature sets. Our current platform resides on Amazon Cloud
(familiarity with AWS is required).  Our customers upload large genomic
data files that range from 100MB - 5GB.  We spin up nodes in our cluster
using Chef to parse and analyze these files, then we index them into
ElasticSearch for lightning-fast retrieval.

Required skills:

PHP5, MySQL, Excellent OOP Practices, Enjoy Unit Testing, CentOS, Git,
JavaScript/Angular, Proper REST Protocols, AWS

Must have: Exceptional attention to detail and organization, positive
attitude, superior work ethic, strong written and verbal communication
skills, and time management skills.

Highly recommended skills (not necessarily required): Yii 2, Chef, Ansible,
knowledge of bioinformatics, Perl, Python, MongoDB

Would be awesome: Hadoop, HDFS, Pig, Hive, Spark, MapReduce, Machine
learning

Required experience:

5+ years of professional web application development.
