Senior User Experience Designer
$90,000 +

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior level UX Designer for direct-hire.  The Senior IA/UX Designer will play a key role in the project discovery process, communicating with clients to understand their business goals and help define strategy, content, and features for design of their website. In addition, reporting directly to the SVP Creative Strategy, this role is instrumental in growing the IA/UX team, assisting in budgeting and forecasting and direct interfacing with the creative, strategy, project management, technology, and account teams.

Required skills:
•Interpreting requirement documentation to derive exceptional user interfaces that balance the execution of an innovative experience strategy with core business objectives and technical platform considerations
•Defining user-interface design, navigation, structure, and hierarchy to serve as a blueprint for all web experiences including mobile and responsive
•Creating wireframes, sitemaps, work-flows, content inventories, specification documents, user scenarios and prototypes, along with thorough documentation and annotations of UI control behavior
•Analyzing target audiences, user behaviors, metrics, and functional specifications to execute user-friendly, goal-oriented solutions
•Interfacing with designers, programmers, and project managers to assure the completion of jobs to meet project specifications
•Working with clients to understand their business models and goals, presenting deliverables to clients, and describing the intended user experience via communication and documentation
•Writing labels for navigational elements and calls-to-action for user interfaces
•Tracking research regarding web design, usability, and technology trends
•Managing the IA team, including in-house staff and contractors, leading and growing the team and their capabilities

Required experience:
•BA or BS in either Graphic/Visual Arts, Library and Information Science, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Information Sciences, Marketing, Industrial Design, Fine Arts, or a related area
•4+ years of relevant experience working on large, complex websites
•Experience developing, extending and applying detailed user interface specifications, UI pattern libraries, reusable GUI components, content inventories, and design guidelines for websites and/or mobile experiences
•Proficient in architecture-related software such as Axure and Visio. (Knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, SQL Server, MS Office, Acrobat, or Dreamweaver a plus)
•Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology
•Working knowledge of user-centered design principles and practices
•Experience observing or conducting user research and translating results into UX decisions
•Experience working directly with clients, communicating objectives and presenting deliverables
•Experience developing wireframes, sitemaps, and user-flows, augmented with clear annotations of UI control behavior, to clients and team members
