Backline Support Engineer

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

The primary role of the Backline Support Engineer is to provide
exceptional product Technical Support to PGP Corporation customers. The
Backline Support Engineer is assigned key customer accounts and will be
responsible for understanding their network configurations and
responding to any issues or questions regarding our award winning
security software products. Support may be provided remotely, or
sometimes on-site, by analyzing the issues, resolving configuration
problems, duplicating product issues, submitting bug reports and
providing workarounds. In addition to interacting with external
customers, the Backline Support Engineer will also work with QA and
Engineering on escalations and testing new product releases. Finally,
the Backline Support Engineer will also develop knowledge base articles
and/or training materials, in addition to proactively providing
information and services that would result in increased customer

- Experience with *NIX!!!!!!!
- 2-6 years of industry experience in Technical Support, Professional
Services or Engineering
- Hands on experience with Mail Servers (MS Exchange, Postfix, Sendmail
and/or Lotus Notes)
- Experience with PCs, Servers, and Networking
- Strong trouble shooting skills in related technologies
- Networking or security certifications is highly desirable
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Electrical
Engineering Desired.
- PGP Corporation product experience is highly desirable

German Language technical support / customer service

PGP, recognized worldwide as the expert in providing an integrated suite
of encryption technology products, is currently recruiting for a
technical customer service position in our Draper, Utah Service and
Support facility.

This position is a unique hybrid of technical support and customer
service, requiring a high degree of technical proficiency combined with
excellent customer service skills.

As a PGP Technical Customer Service Agent you will interact with
individual consumers and corporate customers, providing technical
problem resolution for installation, configuration and usage issues as
well as general assistance on product information, licensing, upgrades,
updates, returns and refunds.

You may also be assigned to create, maintain and update PGP Technical
Support Documents for the PGP Support web site or serve as a site
administrator for one or more of our PGP Support Forums.

This is not your typical Customer Service position. A software technical
background and the ability to learn quickly in a multi-faceted
environment are critical for success.

You must be able and available to work midnight shifts. Written and
verbal fluency in German a must.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience Two or more years of
progressive customer service and/or technical support experience in a
technical customer support or help desk environment Strong working
knowledge of Microsoft Outlook / Exchange, Microsoft Windows and
Microsoft Office Applications Working knowledge of networking and email
applications and protocols Eudora and Lotus Notes experience a strong
plus Microsoft, Novell, Cisco certifications a strong plus Proficiency
in HTML and phpBB a strong plus Understanding of Macintosh and Linux
Operating System Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
strong problem solving skills; ability to communicate tactfully and
effectively with customers, potential customers and co-workers Written
and verbal fluency in German a must.
