There is an opening for an Internet Web Developer
at the Internet Department of KSL Corporate
Position Objective:
POSITION OBJECTIVE: As a key member of the Salt Lake Internet
team, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining
web based applications for the Company’s Internet operations.
The ideal candidate for this position demonstrates competency
and proficiency using PHP and open source tools to build
interactive web applications on a Linux platform. Works closely
with the KSL Internet team and other affiliated departments to
help make KSL.com and other related Bonneville websites a
world-class operation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Design,
implement, and maintain relational database applications and
systems using PHP, C/C++, Java, Perl, SQL, and XML on Linux and
Microsoft Windows platforms. 2. Understand, utilize, and
troubleshoot various networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTP,
FTP, SMB, NFS, and SNMP. 3. Define requirements and objectives
and prepare specifications for new systems. 4. Ensure that all
systems, developed and purchased, maintain high levels of
security and reliability. 5. Implement methodologies for the
purpose of monitoring and reporting of status and statistics for
all systems. 6. Document new system interfaces, functions, and
systems flow in both functional and object-oriented systems. 7.
Assist in analyzing performance to be expected from proposed
system enhancements or replacements. 8. Plan, conduct, and
direct solution of problems to be solved with automated systems.
9. Develop, perform, and evaluate system testing. 10. Become
proficient and stay current on developing Internet technologies.
11. Act as key interface with IS Department in providing
technical assistance to Internet operation. 12. Work in
compliance with Company policies and procedures. 13. Work
effectively in a team environment. 14. Maintain a positive and
cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients. 15.
Consistently work hours required. Work more when required to
meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc. 16.
Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor. 17.
Other duties as assigned!
Position Requirements:
•Design, code, and maintain web applications using PHP, SQL, and
XML in an open source Linux environment. •Maintain and support
existing web related systems, wire feeds, and automation
systems. •Understand, utilize, and troubleshoot various
networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, and SSH.
•Ability to analyze and engineer scalable interactive web
applications using open source tools. •Experience using regular
expressions to quickly solve a wide variety of text parsing
problems. •A good working knowledge of DTHML related
technologies, including JavaScript, DOM, CSS, and AJAX. •Ensure
that all systems, developed and purchased, maintain high levels
of security, quality and reliability. •Document new system
interfaces, functions and system flow in both functional and
object-oriented systems. •Assist in analyzing performance to be
expected from proposed system enhancements or replacements.
•Plan, conduct and direct the solution of problems to be solved

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: •Substantial physical movements (motions) of
the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. •Receive, process, and
maintain information through oral and/or written communication
effectively. •Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
•Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good
eye and hand coordination.
