For our August meeting, Richard Miller will present on internationalization and localization. We’ll discuss character sets and encodings, internationalization/localization (i18n/l10n), how to use PHP and MySQL with foreign characters, and how to use the GNU gettext package for internationalizing your web app.

Cole Joplin will present on Flash/PHP communications. It will be shown how PHP can be interactive, multi-state, and time manipulated when used with Flash. Sticking to that theme, simple, straight PHP will be shown whill covering topics such ast two-way variable communications, manipulating Flash objects from PHP, and create PHP looping/timers.
Justin Giboney will present an intro to flash actionscript.
